Top Ranking Social Networking Site Facebook, Skype is going to launch video chat service


World Top Ranking Social networking site Facebook and Skype are about to strike a deal that would bring the video chatting service to the social networking site.With Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg promising an “awesome” new feature on today July 6, Skype, which was recently purchased by Microsoft for a whopping $8.5 billion, could become a fixture on the world’s largest social network.

The beta version of Google’s social network, Google Plus, debuted last week to rave reviews, especially for its Hangouts feature that allows for multi user video chat.At present, Facebook users update message and status through their profile, and share photos but the addition of video chat will bring an interesting change to their account.Michael Arrington, Editor of Tech Crunch, stated in the Next Week that Facebook, in collaboration with Skype, will unveil its video chat option which will be powered by Skype.

Grameen Phone (GP) to support Bangla translation on Facebook

Mobile phone operator Grameenphone, in association with Facebook, is facilitating an initiative to complete the translation of the social communication site into Bangla with the help of Facebook users. Facebook has also announced the completion of Bangla language in the mobile site which was incomplete before the campaign, said a news release.The initiative was announced on Saturday at a news conference held at GPHouse in Dhaka.
Grameenphone CCO Kazi Monirul Kabir was present at the news conference. Facebook users in Bangladesh will be able to take part in the translation process of the website to Bangla using ‘Facebook Translations,’ which is an open application that allows the users to translate the default English language to any other language preferred by the user, the release said.
