But instead, we got an even bigger surprise.And though the Harry Potter peeps were effectively shut down by Team Twilight, the night had some other fine moments, including a surprise appearance by Justin Bieber, Jim Carrey's crazy suit that flashed images of dogs humping among other things and Gary Busey in a big plastic bubble.
And in the show's other watercooler moment, Reese Witherspoon, winner of the Generation Award, revealed that she knows how to fire off some saucy jokes when she needs to. When Robert Pattinson spoke of how Witherspoon played his mother in his first movie and then now his lover in Water for Elephants, the actress came back with, "So Rob, the punchline of your joke is really that you're the best mother in Hollywood."
"I get that it's cool to be bad. But it's also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show. It used to be that if you make a sex tape, you hide it under your bed. If you take naked pictures of yourself on a cell phone, hide your face."
