Vanessa wants Terry to deny affair

English footballer Wayne Bridge's ex fiancee Vanessa Perroncel wants soccer star John Terry to deny their alleged affair, as it is ruining her possibilities of reconciliation with her former partner, it has emerged. The lingerie model is apparently angry at the Chelsea player's reluctance to publicly deny an affair. "Vanessa feels very strongly that if John had issued an instant denial, as she herself did as soon as the story broke, then it would have substantially reduced the damage done to her relationship," the Daily Express quoted Perroncel's lawyer Monica Daniel, as saying. She added: "Vanessa's position on this has been clear and unequivocal. She denies an affair, denies having become pregnant by Mr Terry and has made that perfectly clear. The truth and reality is that she regarded Mr Terry as a friend and that is all. She felt no romantic affection towards him at any time. Her perspective on the relationship is completely different to that being portrayed. "She did meet him several times as friends and her aim at that time was to seek his help because of her confusion and distress over the breakdown of a relationship she hoped would end in marriage. "At the time she was a friend of John's wife Toni. They had often gone out together as a group of friends. Vanessa is a rather shy woman who doesn't jump into bed with people and certainly not with the husband of her friend. She wants to live with Wayne again but it is difficult with so many lies out there." ANI

Bridge quit team for son's sake

Wayne Bridge has quit the England squad ahead of the 2010 World Cup for his son's sake, it has been revealed. The Manchester City star has apparently told friends that he would not be able to face his three- year-old Jaydon when he grows if he ever lined up in the same side as John Terry, reports News of the World. Bridge refused to shake hands with Terry when the pair lined up against each other at Chelsea. Bridge told a pal: "I've had to make this decision for Jaydon's sake. In ten years' time, how could I look him the eye and say, 'Yes, that man tried to ruin our lives... but I still played in the same team as him'? "I would rather be remembered as a good dad than somebody who played in the World Cup." "People expect me to be able to shrug this off but it's not just about me. It's about Jaydon and what I can tell him when he's old enough to understand," he added. ANI
